Noor Staffing Group is a leading hospitality staffing agency that partners with hotels, corporate dining facilities, universities, healthcare institutions, and other hospitality clients across NYC and surrounding areas. We are seeking reliable and experienced Prep Cooks for temporary and flexible work opportunities based on client needs. This role is ideal for individuals looking for flexible scheduling, extra income, and opportunities to work in a variety of professional kitchen environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and client standards
• Wash, peel, cut, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, meats, and other ingredients
• Assist with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, catering, and other services
• Properly label, date, store, and rotate prepared ingredients
• Maintain an organized and sanitary prep area throughout the shift
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures
• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with daily preparation needs
• Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
• Help maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas
• Support the kitchen team during high-volume service periods

Requirements

• 2+ years of recent professional prep cook or kitchen experience required
• Valid Food Handler Certificate required
• Strong basic knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
• Knowledge of proper food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portion standards
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible availability, including Monday–Friday and weekends as needed
• Willingness to accept different shifts and assignments based on client needs
• Ability to work efficiently and remain organized in a busy kitchen
